Writing and more writing
Posted: Dec 8, 2008
|
My Friends,
I have taken the last couple of months to simply continue writing songs and have been utilizing what little time I have these days to try and develop my latest singer/songwriter folk-rock genre. Hopefully early '09 will see at least an upload of a 3-4 song demo that will lead me into this new realm of music.
I will still be plugging my intsrumentals but want to focus on my writing, generic themes and memorable sounds.
Thanks for your visit, stay tuned and in the meantime, find DEPTH CHARGE and DRIFT IT for sale at itunes,
respectfully,
JK |

Plagued by Piracy
Posted: May 2, 2008
|
A negative news post, however one for all of us in these online indie communities to be aware of. What do you find when you google your name? I wished to see what kind of online presence would surface related to my name and discovered on the 3rd page about half way down, an unauthorized download site advertising my music for sale. On further inspection, it is a site in Russia that is notorious for undercutting itunes with full length album sales by the MB rather than per song. They have taken and re-formatted my songs and my artwork. Regardless of the blatant piracy and illegal licensing of music for digital distribution, this site continues to boast about their legal, moral and ethical conduct, it's funny really!
Although I'm honoured that they feel my work worthy enough to pirate, it is still a frustration and disappointment for the independent artist. Here's to the internet and the digital era, the epitome of a double-edged sword swinging in all directions with very little control.
cheers,
Jeremy |

1st anniversary

It's hard to believe it's only been one year since ICM and me as an indie artist has been online, networking like mad and spending many late nights submerged in the viscious internet vortex. I would like to mention and thank all of you who have commented, reviewed, visited and simply showed interest in my music and the different winding avenues it has taken.
The year has seen completion and uploading of 36 songs total, many achieving top 10 ten status. A collaboration effort in Treading Water that has set a precedent for further collab productions. DRIFT IT is airing over a dozen different online stations worldwide reflected in added visits to the site (at one point averaging 50/day. My Artist and Repetoire company has forwarded one of my songs to a publishing company in NY for possible use in Film and TV (holding my breath for a license on that one.....)Amp Digital has distributed Drift It to itunes, with more download sites on the horizon. I have had the the privilege of having my work reviewed by industry people for considerstion with lot's of positve and corrective feedback.
Enough to make '08 another big year....absolutely!
I hope this news feed finds all of you in fine spirits, spring is upon us...
cheers,

Hi everybody and thankyou for your visit,
As we embark upon our last months of 2007 the juggling act continues. Family, work, play and time submerged in music and it's various branching avenues. This month has seen some additions to the IgKnight Custom Music marketing department. TAXI, an LA based A&R company will be assessing my music submissions for "industry listings".
Also on the back-burner is a sales agreement with Amp Digital Media that will see Drift It released on itunes and two other online retailers.
Forging ahead and riding this technology wave is overwhelming. Back to the studio to lose myself,
From snow-blanketed Muskoka,thanks for reading,

Hey Rockers,
I have recently teamed up with guitarist and engineer Ryan Welcher and Female vocalist Ashley Miners to create a very solid, original piece. To be uploaded shortly......goose bumps head to toe, trust me on this one, stand by for "Treading Water".
I'm going to organize this site so that various albums will reflect various genres of my music and songwriting. I will also include a miscellaneous section for "some fun stuff".
Rock on. |
